Sr. Web (Drupal) QA/Testing Consultant (Contract Role)

Our team is looking for a high-energy, senior-level web quality assurance/testing consultant with deep expertise in Drupal to join our team on a short-term contract basis (with opportunities for longer term roles) for one or more of the firm's clients. This resource will be able to play a key role in testing and deploying engaging and effective websites that achieve the client's business goals.

 

 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Provide quality assurance and testing support for development and maintenance activities within the Drupal content management system (CMS) that powers the client’s public website
  • Provide testing support for environment migrations and releases, as well as assist with scheduling of activities
  • Collaborate closely with project team members using an agile workflow, communicate constantly, and attend key client or deliverable review meetings, as needed
  • Submit regular status updates and escalations on any major decisions, issues, and risks to the appropriate team member
  • Coordinate automated and regression testing activities with offshore testing and QA function
  • Perform manual, automated, performance, and usability testing activities on published code, components, themes, etc. within and external to the Acquia Drupal environment
  • Document comprehensive testing script results and maintain up-to-date testing and quality assurance documentation for future use/reference
  • Develop and review process improvement opportunities for both manual and automated testing approaches
  • Leverage industry best practice tools, components, and frameworks to effectively provide QA and testing support for mission-critical capabilities being deployed to the client’s public website

 

Requisite Skills / Background

  • Minimum of 7 years developing and testing consumer-oriented websites; with at least 3-5 years of testing/quality assurance hands-on roles
  • Deep expertise in testing and deployment of websites or business applications leveraging Drupal v8/9/10 (preferably Acquia-hosted environments or similar)
  • Working experience with WCAG accessibility tools for screen readers, color contrast, etc. and implementation of code testing based upon WCAG accessibility guidelines
  • Working experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab, BitBucket, Jenkins, or similar
  • Full-stack quality assurance experience including functional, regression, load/performance, and stress testing
  • Experience developing and executing testing scenarios and test scripts
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Drupal software development lifecycle, including how to optimize and validate deployments
  • Experience working with remote developers and offshore testing resources
  • Experience with version control and release management systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of troubleshooting live websites and business applications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated success in an innovative and agile high-growth environment

 

Job Location & Other Details

  • Opportunity is remote/work from home (must be authorized to work in the US, all work must be physically performed in the US)
  • Role will be short-term contract-based assignment (4-6 months to start) with opportunities for longer-term roles
